I loved it!! Got out there a bit late, around 3ish, so most everyone was leaving. Had a nice time though. The ride out was great and was approximately 4 miles. We launched from a ramp in New Smyrna, can't recall name, it was off of N. Causeway. It was very nice and had a lot of parking and some restrooms. There were 2 ramps, and each ramp could accomodate 2 trailers if squeezed.

I think learning to anchor with the waves in mind will take a bit of work, but there is plenty of time to practice and I'm sure I'll be ready by summer, LOL.

Also, I ended up catching the wake of a 60-70' yacht in the inlet where you can actually make a wake...that was interesting to say the least!! If I had to guess, I would say the wake was 6-7'; scared me a bit, but the boat held its own pretty well.

Can't wait to go again!!! Would love to take more people next time too...I just went with my buddy and his wife so I could get used to the ride, anchoring, etc since they are familiar with the island. Gonna bring the the grill and cookout next time too...forgot the the propane this last time, DOH!!!

disappearing island is awesome!! In the summers its more enjoyable weather wise, but on the july 4th, memorial day holidays, its definitely the place to be. They usually build a stage and have a live band play. Its awesome!
