OK so since there hasn't really been a lot of chatter on this site, I will start something.

So where do you guys go?

I will start.  We have a few places we like to go.  We usually frequent the St Johns, leaving from our hometown Deland.   There are a few places around.  Heading north on the river we hit Castaways in Astor.  The Blackwater Inn is there as well, but we prefer Castaways.  They have Landshark on tap.  As of yet, we have never gotten a bad meal.  Appetizers are great, and the meals are too.

Heading south from Deland there is Shady Oaks.  Pretty much a trailer on the water.  Decent quick food and great specials.  Then further south, down past Lake Beresford, is Swamphouse Grille.  Another great place.  They have a great menu, some food better than the rest.

Out on the Intercoastal.  We put in at New Smryna, North Causeway ramp.  Heading out on the weekends there is usually a boat/vender right there.  boiled peanuts and stuff like that.

We go to a lot of places out there.  To start, there is the restaurant at the lighthouse.  I cant remember the name.  Then there is Down the Hatch, great place, then Inlet Harbor, another great place, and they have a band most times too.  Then a little further is Boondocks.  We always liked them, but we dont get up that way as often as we would like.

Anybody else.  How about we post up where we go and what we like and dont like???

We also enjoy Castaways and Blackwater. Have not made it to Shady Oaks, but will need to get out there. Intracoastal wise, we head over to the Brevard/Sebastian area. Been wanting to try out Disappearing island sometime.
We run the St. Johns River frequently. We stay in the Glen for long weekends or when every we get time off of work. There are plenty of restaurants, marinas and hotels along the river. We launch at Astor Bridge on Hwy 40, the Glen is only like 10 miles from there.
My two big hang-outs are the St John's River from 44 north (probably be there Sunday) and the Harris chain since I live in Lake County. On the Harris chain my two favorite social spots are the Harris Hideaway and JJ Fins.

Thanks for starting this. We're always looking for a new place to have a cold one and an appetizer. We're new to this community and am looking forward to an active and really fun boating season. In Melbourne, Eaugallie causeway, Squid lips has a great happy hour. Also, Grills at port canaveral has the best ahi tuna with seaweed salad. Usually live music. Looking to head north up the St. Johns to Jax. Maybe out to St. Augustine. Any suggestions?

There is the Blackwater Inn in Astor I like right at the drawbridge on SR40 before you enter Lake George.

Lake TOHO information request

I am on the West Coast and thought about bringing the boat over and checking out Lake Toho over the Memorial Day weekend. Can anyone give me some insight on what to expect.  Most of the information I can find is on the fishing but we are more into the raft ups and just enjoying the boating experience.  Any advice or warnings would be greatly appreciated. See More
