Hi my name it Todd Perry
and I am a Sea Shepherd Onshore Volunteer and I live in Bushnell, Florida.
I don't know if you know of this organization but its the same group that are on Animal Planets Whale Wars.
The reason I am contacting you is to find out about any boat or scuba shows that may let us setup up a booth to make people familiar with our organization and to raise donations for Sea Shepherds to help save our oceans and its wildlife.
I have tried the Boat show in February you advertise on your website b y contacting them by phone and email but it seems that they are only interested in making money and not really interested get involved in saving the oceans so the will not return our calls or emails.
If you know events here in central Florida that would allow us to rent or even donate a spot for us or point us to someone that may be able to help us find these would be of great help.
Established in 1977, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society (SSCS) is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization. Our mission is to end the destruction of habitat and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans in order to conserve and protect ecosystems and species.
Sea Shepherd uses innovative direct-action tactics to investigate, document, and take action when necessary to expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas. By safeguarding the biodiversity of our delicately-balanced ocean ecosystems, Sea Shepherd works to ensure their survival for future generations.
What we do is put up a small booth where we can run a computer with a projector and 6' screen to play clips and videos and give out brochures to show people what we do and get more people involved with saving our oceans and at the same time saving ourselves.
I find that people who are scuba divers and boaters are the ones most likely to get involved because of their love of our seas and oceans.
If the spot can be donated it can be used as a tax right off from the tax info from our website or I can have a form mailed or emailed to you if needed.
If you would not mind me doing this please let me know so I can set it up with the main office up North and if you should want to contact me by phone about the matter please feel free to call me at (352)568-5209 anytime.
Here is the link to check out our organization. http://www.seashepherd.org/
